

Green Book is a 2018 American biographical comedy-drama film directed by Peter Farrelly. The film is imspired by a true story of a tour of the Deep South by African American classical and jazz pianist Don Shirley

The film was written by Farrelly who is Brian Hayes Currie and Vallelonga’s son, Nick Vallelonga, based on interviews with his father and Shirley, as well as letters his father wrote to his mother. The film is named after The Negro Motorist Green Book which is a mid-20th century guidebook for African-American travelers written by Victor Hugo Green.

Peter John Farrelly was born in December 17, 1956. He is an American film director, screenwriter, producer and novelist. In 2018, his own co-wrote and directed the comedy-drama Green Book, and the film won the Audience Award at the Toronto Film Festival in 2018(Kilgnnon, 2018).
